How it works for customers

A guided introduction without giving up control.

Submit a home-service project free from an approved Washington, DC Metro ZIP, keep identifying details out of the project description, and decide whether any responding provider is right for the work.

The customer journey

From project submission to the provider you choose.

  1. STEP 01

    Describe the project

Share the service address, category and service, scope, desired timing, useful photos or files, contact preferences, and required consent. We use the address ZIP to check Washington, DC Metro coverage. Save a draft before submitting if needed.

  2. STEP 02

    Homing Work reviews it

The project is classified and checked for coverage, clarity, risk, and missing information. An administrator may request clarification, edit the marketplace scope, approve publication, or reject an unsuitable submission.

  3. STEP 03

    We prepare the project description

Homing Work keeps identifying details out of the project description, then routes the opportunity only to businesses matching the service and area.

  4. STEP 04

Up to three businesses may contact you

Your contact information is shared only through controlled access, and no more than three unique businesses can receive it for one project.

  5. STEP 05

You evaluate, hire, and pay independently

You are never required to hire a provider. If you do, scope, quote, contract, scheduling, job payment, and warranties are handled directly with that provider—not through Homing Work.

A focused request, not an open call list
  • Reviewed project description
  • Exact service and current service area
  • Desired timing and useful project details
  • No more than three matching businesses

Before hiring a provider

Ask questions, review relevant credentials or insurance directly, compare written scope and price, and understand the provider's contract and warranty terms. Homing Work does not guarantee work, pricing, availability, licensing, insurance, or qualifications.
